BLOCK BUILDING

 

Block building is an important part of the curriculum for all ages.  It helps children develop on several levels, utilizing math, art, logic, spatial reasoning, cooperation, dramatic play and imagination.

An important developmental step is when children make purposeful block structures, then incorporate them in dramatic play.  Here on two different days, the same blocks are used to make a table for a party, then a dock where the children are “safe from the sharks.”
